Oh I love a cake smash! Even from the planning stage, helping clients choose colours and styles, inflating the balloons on the day... it's like a little party in the studio! Melina's cake smash session was no different, and I was a little apprehensive to begin with as she'd never tasted cake before; sometimes it's too sweet for babies. I needn't have worried, she was a pro! My cake smash sessions start with a traditional portrait session, it's a great way to get babies used to the photography studio, and the lights and sounds involved. Melina was SO excited when her cake came out! Mum had to hold her so I could get a quick snap of the set up before she was set loose! Although the cake went down well, Melina didn't like the wooden spoon or the 'E' from the ONE letters! My poor wooden spoon travelled far across the studio! At the end of the smash session, I fill a tub with warm bubbly water for a little splash fun! The splash session is great in many ways, but mostly it helps bring the session to the end, gets baby clean (and saves on wipes!) and it looks so cute!! I think you'll agree that Melina rocked her cake smash and splash session!
