Goodness me what a year it has been! (And I'm not just talking about the number of celebrities who have sadly left us!) Little Cherubs Photography started the year with a move back to being home studio based (yay for no commute!) but soon the practicalities of running a home studio became impossible and the search for the perfect studio space began! Little Cherubs Photography moved into its new home in May, and opened its doors in June. The studio has given me so much freedom to go wild, increase the prop stash (not that I needed much encouragement there!), get some product samples in (everyone adores the acrylic panel, including myself!) and I now get the joy of watching clients' faces light up as they see their images for the first time in my viewing room. In January I attended a newborn photography workshop; I think it's important to keep training up to date, and newborn safety is not something I take lightly. I'm proud to say I am a trained newborn specialist and that your tiny delicate babies are safe in my hands. I've continued to support charities throughout the year; namely Little Treasures Charity and Remember My Baby, and will do so through 2017, no doubt adding to my list! I've met many brand new families as they brought their precious babies in for their newborn sessions, I've seen babies on their first birthdays as they smash the living daylights out of their birthday cake during cake smashes, families have returned for their milestone sessions, or with their latest addition. I've met some truly lovely people - my clients are the BEST! I honestly cannot say how humbled I am that you chose me to photograph your most important moments. I really do have the best job in the world. Here are a few faces from this years sessions, can you spot yours? I still have one last session before the year is out, but I want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to everyone who has either used my services or supported me in some way - without you all, this wouldn't have been possible.
I look forward to seeing old faces again and meeting new ones in 2017! I'm already planning the sessions booked in the diary so far, and can't wait to get stuck in! Be happy & safe and I'll see you soon xx I adore newborns (and really, who doesn't?!) and I was very much looking forward to meeting Hunter, his parents and big brother Tom and welcoming them into the studio for Hunter's newborn session. As with all newborn sessions, the heater was cranked up to make the studio the perfect temperature for Hunter, which left the rest of us a bit toasty! Oh what a sweetie he was! Hunter slept pretty much the entirety of the shoot, stopping briefly for a feed before I wrapped him up and put one of my favourite bonnets on him. He was so sleepy I finally managed to use my new bucket prop! Every time I got it out in previous sessions, the babies woke up; I was starting to think I'd never get 'that' shot. It was definitely worth the wait, Hunter rocked it! Baby safety is paramount at the Little Cherubs studio; shots including props or babies 'balancing' are usually made up of two photos blended together, or I ask a parent to spot baby and edit them out in post production. It's just not worth the risk of injury! Hunter had the sweetest eyelashes; I love capturing the tiny details that you inadvertently forget as they grow. The way their mouth pouts, tiny toes, gorgeous back rolls. Oh they grow so fast...! I always ask parents if they have something special they'd like to include in their sessions, to bring it along and I'd try to incorporate it as best I can. Normally it's a little teddy or a special blanket so I was very excited when Hunters dad showed me his beret! I love shooting something a little different! And I thoroughly enjoyed Hunters newborn session - he was a superstar!
Thanks for stopping by! Emma Every now and then I like to run a little competition on my Facebook page (Facebook.com/littlecherubsphotography for those who don't know it) and the winner of my most recent one was one of my previous newborns, but not just any previous newborn... the baby who came early and shares a birthday with me! I do love that with this job I get to see babies grow and families evolve and it's such an honour when they choose me to capture the big moments in their lives. So here are a couple of photos from Poppy's newborn session.. And here she is now at 7 months old! The best time to book a newborn session is after your 20 week scan, that way I can guarantee there is space in my diary for when baby arrives. Of course I can try to fit you in if baby has already arrived. To book a session please click here to send me an email and I will get back to you with my availability. Emma |
