A few weeks ago I visited a new fabric shop in Peterborough (Plush Addict), I've been a customer of theirs for years, from my days of making cloth nappies for my kids and was so excited to see they'd relocated nearer to us! I bought a few new fabrics to use as beanbag backdrops for newborns, and wanted to test them out! So I ran a model call on my Facebook page, my first since moving from Chatteris to the March studio. The first baby I had booked in unfortunately was unwell, so I put a last minute post out to ask for someone else. And so I was offered James! James was unlike most newborns I'd met previously; for one, he was what we consider an 'oldborn' - newborn sessions are best for babies under two weeks old, as they tend to sleep better and curl into those sweet poses you see in newborn photography. And mum had said he was a big baby, at over 13b already at five weeks old, but he filled my beanbag! He was just so scrummy! As he was a little older than most newborns, he did take a while to go to sleep, and did not like to be moved! But as I was just testing out my new fabrics, I let him get himself comfortable, then lightly posed him from there. What do we think to the green? I've since been told green can be seen as an unlucky colour - I had no idea! As you can see, James was a fantastic model, even at five weeks old!
Newborn sessions are best booked after your 20 week scan; that way I can guarantee I have the space in my diary for you, as I can only take on a limited amount of newborns per month, and I don't like to turn people away! To book your newborn session, please click here See you soon! Emma x |
